The double page spread is about the singer artist, Neyo. The spread is simple and only consist of the house styled colors (black and white), which keeps the consistency of the magazine. Neyo is a bankable character and very popular in the urban music area so this image of him on the left hand side of the spread will be extremely attractive and appealing to the target audience.
The main image is on the left hand side. Neyo is posing as a formal gentleman. This fits in with the plain colors as he is wearing a suit. The background is a simple design image in black, white and grey.
The right side also ties in with the formal wear of the main image as this side has a short interview of Neyo and his life. This is also another attraction as people are always interested in celebrity’s lives. The questions are in bold black font and the answers are in grey just to show the difference in the conversation. This all sits from the middle of the page downwards.
From the top of the right page, the main heading stands out in bold round font with one word in grey and the two underneath in black. This takes over the whole of the top of the right page. Underneath that is a short description of Neyo’s past so that people who may not know much about him will get a brief idea.

contents page analysis

The layout of this contents page is very plain and the colours are similar to the front page (black white and blue) keeping the same main colours. The page is organised into standard paragraphs and sectioned into two areas; regulars and features.
The sub titles that you would usually find on contents page are under either of these sections and are set as a normal font after the bold page numbers next to them. The heading, ‘contents’ is laid across the middle of the page left just under the main image. This is in black font on a white background and stands out in block capitals. The other headings, ‘features’ and ‘contents’ are similar but in a smaller font. The image is of an urbanely dressed young female performing a complex dance move upside down and this image takes over a half of the page.
This still relates to the genre of the magazine because the colours and the image focus on the hip hop culture of music.
The features on this page are similar to the main pages of the magazine and the front cover as the house style is kept the same, plain and simple in colour, font and images. This is a small design that has a big effect on the way the audience capture the unique selling points of the magazine like the clothing that the models wear in the images.
